About the Training: Dr. Gillespie will cover fundamental of vehicle
dynamics. The course takes the engineer through the mechanics of each of the
major systems on automobiles and tracks for dynamics performance. Dr. Gillespie
will present state-of-the-art in virtual and hardware validation processes. He
will cover such topics as economics of virtual product development, system
definition for performance, software-in-the-loop (SIL), hardware-in-the-loop
(HIL), and man-in-the-loop (MIL) using vehicle dynamics simulation models.

About the Speaker: Dr. Thomas D Gillespie
Dr. Gillespie is a Research Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan.
He has 30-year career as a researcher at the University of Michigan
Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) where his research focused on vehicle
dynamics, road roughness, tire uniformity, tire-roadway interaction and
simulation of these phenomena. In conjunction with this, he was a co-founder of
Mechanical Simulation Corporation - the producer of CarSim, TruckSim and
BikeSim vehicle dynamics software.
