EASi Boosts Efforts to Build a Best-in-Class Core Biopsy Device

EASi helps a medical equipment provider make crucial modifications to its core biopsy device designs that also position the device for future improvements. 

The client and challenge
With more than 1.6 million cancer diagnoses each year, the potential benefits of developing a better core biopsy device could be significant. Our client, a leading provider of medical equipment and products, wanted a design that optimized sample acquisition while enhancing ease-of-use throughout the procedure. The surface parts needed to be recreated in CREO due to limitability of the software, and plastic design criteria had to be considered for the injection molding process. All models had to incorporate para-metrical driven dimensions and the turnaround time was very short.

The EASi solution
To ensure an effective yet streamlined production process, EASi needed to convert comprehensive 3D models from Solidworks to CREO files, then develop detailed drawings.

The results
Because of EASi, the client was able to continue development of the new device with no costly delays. EASi satisfied all expectations within the short timeframe, developing project execution guidelines, best practices and quality checklists to ensure repeatability with minimum error. EASi also used efficient modeling practices to create easily modifiable 3D models as well as drawings for parts and assemblies following industry standards, and delivered all 3D CREO parts and assemblies.
