EASi Completes Design and Detailing Services for a Conveyor System on a Tight Timeline

A rapidly growing packaging automation manufacturer brought in EASi to handle design/detailing work off-site in order to fulfill orders and avoid significant fines for late delivery. 

The client and challenge
The customer, a designer and manufacturer of packaging automation machinery for the dairy food and beverage industry, required a services partner to handle overflow design/detailing work off-site because it was experiencing large growth and falling behind on orders, and would incur fines in the thousands of dollars for machines that were not shipped on time.

The EASi solution
  • Utilized near-site deliver center to execute work, provided engineering delivery management and maintained responsibility for managing team resources and activities
  • Provided weekly status reports and implemented communication model
  • Supported design and detailing for a 4.5 inch table top conveyor for 48 oz. bottles from an existing conveyor to a Fuji sleeve
    • Multiple motors are used to control the flow of product and use minimal pressure on the infeed of the sleeve
    • Conveyor designed, matched and spliced into existing conveyor with a manual gate to allow product to be directed to the sleever or to continue on the existing conveyor path
    • Conveyor to the sleever directly spliced up to the sleever’s conveyor with bolts
The results
EASi completed the project per customer specifications within the necessary timeline, four weeks. Deliverables included:

  • AutoCAD layout updated with new equipment blocks
  • SolidWorks drawings of assemblies, parts and drawings for manufacturing
  • E-drawing files of each conveyor section
  • Updated Excel product specification sheet
  • Motor calculation sheet
  • BOM per template provided
  • Spare parts list and customer equipment documentation
