We are currently looking to hire a Manufacturing (Methods) Engineer to support our rapid growth in Canada, having experienced significant growth year over year since 2015. EASi is a strategic partner to a major client in the gas turbine & power generation industries and has additional clients in the aviation industry in Montreal.

EASi is seeking a Manufacturing (Methods) Engineer who has experience an industrial and/or aerospace industry to support our manufacturing and supplier management projects. This person would be responsible to provide supplier manufacturing engineering support within a manufacturing group in Montreal, connected to a variety of gas turbine engine and aviation products. They would be supporting projects with these, and other future clients as we continue to grow and expand in Canada.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing engineer will be involved in a variety of complex project work, including:

1. Methods and methods qualification support. Methods proposals for procedures or operations in machining, fabrication and assembly of customer components in customer's or subcontractor's facilities. These procedures may be required to be created, executed and validated for their efficiency and cost effectiveness. Time studies may be required, and best practices indoctrinated into these procedures.

2. Supporting engineering manufacturing drawings from customer's database, looking for quality improvements and developing solutions or providing suggestions to improve them. Marking up the PDF drawings to reflect the changes. This requires a strong knowledge of GD&T, assembly processes and methods of manufacture. Also required to be able to read the drawings effectively.

3. Preparing documentation for purchase of manufactured components. Drawings ,3D models and engineering specifications as well as non-conformance history will be required to be prepared, presented and explained to suppliers.

4. Managing projects and supporting components being machined or fabricated by suppliers or customers. Being able to follow and/or lead the process product qualification for the component. This will be mainly supporting the change management process, purchasing, and technical paperwork involved in both. Travel is occasionally required, but the individual will utilize her/his interpersonal and communication skills to be able to deal with the suppliers, who may reside inside or outside of Canada. Work will involve reviewing methods of manufacture and consulting with our customer for drawing (model) changes or helping in the manufacturing process as well as determining the capability of a targeted supplier.


1. Create weekly and monthly metric reports as requested by customers or internal engineering groups.

2. Interact with prospective and current suppliers to validate manufacturing methods and ensure project deliverables

3. Report project updates and accomplishments directly to the supervisor/lead or directly to the customer if required. The manufacturing engineer is the individual responsible for the output of the assigned project whether he/she is at the client or in the EASi engineering center

4. The manufacturing engineer may also be assigned leadership responsibilities, to lead fellow consultants or other engineers on specific assignments and serve as the focal point for the project.

Accurate and timely completion of all required quality documents, whether from the assigned customer, or from EASi.

Education and Experience Requirements:

1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (significant methods experience would also be acceptable)

2. Manufacturing and fabrication experience

3. Machining production experience: Inspection for manufacture and compliance in an industrial (a must) and aviation (a plus) industry

4. Working knowledge of ISO9000

5. Has experience working with multidisciplinary teams of people including materials, design, procurement, and quality

6. Experience with PFMEA

7. Lean and Six Sigma abilities (an asset)

8. (SAP) and Teamcenter experience (an asset)

9. Knowledge of 3D software is required, NX and Catia (an asset)

10. Experience in manufacturing support role for Gas Turbines or large rotating equipment using primarily metal processes (an asset)

11. Gas turbine knowledge/experience (an asset)

12. Working knowledge of AS9100 (an asset)


1. Ability to utilize MS office software

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills (English a priority, French an asset)

3. Presentation skills, to present projects or work to internal and external clients

4. Demonstrated ability to lead others, can work in a team environment, solid problem-solving skills, customer focus

5. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

6. Excellent problem solving and time management skills

7. Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge

8. Self-motivated and highly organized

9. Has experience in working in PLM20/20 or other PLM system (Enovia, etc.)

10. Understands the functions and proper usage of measuring equipment

11. Has strong foundation in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
